The People Behind Elengos
The Executive
Chemical and Process Engineer with over 20 years' experience in mining research and development, mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, smelting, and precious metals refining, including 10+ years combined in management and leadership roles. Founded and leads Elengos Mining and Projects, delivering full-cycle process and equipment design, plant commissioning, and process optimisation across gold, chrome, PGM, antimony, and base-metals operations. At Lonmin/Sibanye-Stillwater, delivered process and equipment engineering design across core precious metals refinery plants, managed different PGMs processing plants, led automation and control-system upgrades, and commissioned new process technology plants from pilot plant to commercial-scale plant installation through start-up, including scaling a resin/ion-exchange pilot plant to commercial scale for Rhodium and Iridium separation, with SHEQ compliance built into every engagement.
Process & equipment design
South African entrepreneur and Finance and Deal Executive with a track record in fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and wealth management. Leads Elengos Mining and Projects (Pty) Ltd, overseeing diversified mining and metallurgical processing interests across South Africa and the Zambian Copperbelt. Previously CEO of NAFCOC KZN's investment arm, leading deal origination and restructuring, including NAFCOC's acquisition of Gelveno Textiles, a R109 million textile factory in Hammarsdale, KZN. Eight years running an independent brokerage contracted to JSE-listed insurers Metropolitan Life, Channel Life and Sanlam, and Founder of Umuzi Brokers, accredited for over 7 years with the Council for Medical Schemes for Hosmed and Medshield. Former CEO of Kgolo Mining, focused on Lace Diamond Dump recovery, and has structured toll-refining and gold tailings arrangements with major smelters, including securing a dedicated smelter slot with DESCO in White River, Mpumalanga. Holds mining ventures in the Zambian Copperbelt and diversified portfolios in chrome and gold.
